The Roblox Infrastructure team is in the process of establishing a scalable and reliable global network of Point of Presence Data Centers (POP). Our team moves quickly and responds to change even faster. As a PoP Deployment Engineer you will help build and maintain well defined remote sites through planning, purchase, deployment, production and decommission.
- Support and implement Roblox's edge server & network infrastructure.
- Perform remote & hands-on troubleshooting and repair of Server hardware, network hardware, software, and network links.
- Work with Site Reliability and Bare Metal Engineering teams to deploy server level installations and modifications.
- Manage and execute assignments through our internal task tools and repair ticketing systems for 26 sites and growing.
- Create and maintain documentation for server & network infrastructure.
- Work cross-functionally to plan and execute on projects and manage operational incidents.
- Be a collaborative teammate that will work across multi-functional groups and have the ability to learn and adapt to changing requirements.
- Create or follow an existing MOP to execute standard Data Center operational tasks.
- Serve as tier 3 support layer for Dell, SuperMicro, Lenovo and Inspur server repair escalations.
Qualifications
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
- Able to communicate instructions clearly both verbally and written to remote staff in Data Centers.
- Have better than working knowledge of Linux (github/python/bash scripting)
- Knowledge of TCP / IP protocol, network management protocol, and exposure to IPV6
- Highly detail oriented with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
