PLAYTEST COORDINATOR

Are you a highly organized person who is comfortable wearing many hats, often at the same time? Are you curious about new technologies and always eager to try something new? Is your skillset hard to fit into one bucket? Are you a self-starter who is able to navigate the complexities needed to serve a diverse multi-team mission? AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Setup, facilitation, and troubleshooting for remote user testing with a variety of technologies
  • Hosting & showpersonship for in-person playtests ranging from 1 - 100 people (when safe to do so)
  • Working with multiple project teams to understand playtesting goals and requirements
  • Evaluating playtest process to improve & streamline playtester experiences, regardless of test or product
  • Recruiting playtesters to increase scope and diversity of playtest volunteers including social media, events, on-site recruiting (when safe to do so) and partnerships with other organizations
  • Identifying playtester demographics & crafting appeals for specific test demographics
  • Managing playtester database
  • Coordinating invitations, RSVPs, communications, logistics, and playtest attendants across multiple projects
  • Verifying & managing Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Recording & annotating playtest notes, audio & video as needed
  • Conducting player interviews
  • Parsing, processing, and analyzing playtest data into actionable reports for teams, partners and the Product Department
  • Analyzing data from in-game analytics to understand player behavior, identify problems & highlight themes

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years with relevant experience
  • Comfortable working in Google Docs and Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing throughput for large guest groups

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and the ability to improvise during live playtests
  • Strong communication skills including written, oral, & presentational
  • Interest in engaging diverse player bases, including race, age, gender, ethnic background, place of origin, ability level, and level of education
  • Ability to elicit or coax critical feedback from reticent players
  • Ability to identify biased questions and write questions that mitigate bias
  • Strong understanding of playtesting (or usability testing) goals and best practices
  • Experience troubleshooting in-development or prototype software or hardware
  • Example(s) of documents that convey a result or finding in a compelling and easy to understand manner
  • Ability to on-ramp quickly to new or proprietary software and hardware
  • Experience with Usertesting.com is not required, but is a bonus!
