CCP Reykjavík is looking for a researcher with experience studying questions of product usability and customer satisfaction who also has a deep passion for video games and game development.
Player Research delivers qualitative data insights to EVE Online product teams in order to improve EVE Online for our players, both current and future. In this role, you will help make that happen through driving user research studies across EVE Online teams while also aiding us in evolving our research practices. You will be a strong advocate for players by evangelizing player-centric design practices while producing actionable research insights as part of a Player Research team.
You Are:

- A skilled communicator who is comfortable communicating research findings to large audiences and company stakeholders

- Passionate about video games and have played multiple games of different genres while experiencing being part of a gaming community
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written
You Will:
- Develop, recruit for, run, analyze, and report on user research of varying kinds, including usability studies, playtesting and more
- Conduct research both remotely and in-person, moderated and unmoderated on PC, mobile, and other platforms
- Contribute to design concepts by being an advocate for players' needs
- Offer research support as needed to product teams
- Help evolve the discipline of Player Research at CCP Games both regarding tools and research methodologies
You Have:
- A postgraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Game Studies, Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- Alternatively to a postgraduate degree, equivalent practical experience
- Experience with qualitative research approaches such as lab studies, interviews, surveys, or ethnography
- Experience recruiting research participants
- A solid understanding of development processes and how research is appropriately integrated at various phases in product development
- A positive attitude and top work ethic

- A strong opinion on the best note-taking tool available and why it is pen and paper
