About the Player Insights Team:

User experience is at the forefront of how we create games that people love to play. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to yield insights that inform product strategy and guide the design of the experiences we create.

What You’ll Do:

If you are passionate about social/casual video games and about market research, this role is for you! You will drive understanding of gamers through large scale primary and secondary quantitative research and combine skills in experimental design, statistical analysis, programming and human-computer interaction to improve user experience.

As a key member of a product team, you work with stakeholders across functions and levels to solve challenging problems and empower the team to move forward by developing metrics, measuring results and integrating new methodologies into existing systems. You'll do more than just crunch numbers though: through reports and team engagement, you'll provide a user experience (UX) perspective on quantitative and qualitative data to help stakeholders understand their users.

Coming up with solutions is only one part of your job. Equally important is to identify and quantify problems, and to embark on new research areas worth exploring through innovative methods. As such, you'll apply principles of rigorous and ethical research to build and improve products in order to satisfy users' needs and exceed their expectations.

Responsibilities:

· Work with key business partners in GSN Games to identify and define research programs, which you will then manage and execute for various GSN teams

· Develop analytical approach and research design using an array of qualitative and quantitative methodologies and emerging innovative research techniques

· Analyze and synthesize data from primary and secondary research to understand implications and generate insights

· Transfer clear, relevant analysis to stakeholders to influence business decisions

· Partner with Data Science teams to join attitudinal and behavioral data sets for gaming

Qualifications:

· 5 - 7 years of market research experience including coursework, educational experience, or internships

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social sciences, consumer psychology, data science or related field.

· Deep understanding of social/casual/mobile video games and the industry

· Capability to analyze data from varying sources and apply findings to business decisions

· Experience with a variety of research techniques including qualitative (e.g., ethnography/focus groups/IDIs) and quantitative (e.g., segmentation, messaging, position, tracking)

· Experience writing SQL queries and SPSS with the ability to strategize at a high level

· Great project management and communication skills

· Ability to program consumer surveys on different research platforms, such as Qualtrics, Google Surveys, etc

· Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at varying levels of the organization

· Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and to make data and insights accessible to various audiences
