Platform Engineering Manager, Global Infra

As platform engineering manager on China Core Team, you will work closely with teams within the Roblox Engineering Organization including Infrastructure, Platforms, Services and various Products, enabling the best of Roblox platform to a global scale.
The China Core Team is a unique “special force” team in Roblox, focusing on high-impact project and hyper-growth markets as well as crucial internal engineering efficiency initiatives. The platform-related project you will be doing enables the Roblox platform to be secure, robust, distributable and scalable across the globe in a modern multi-national active-active fashion. The China regional domain is our first and most important initiative of this global platform topology.
The China Core Team not only empowers Luobu, a joint venture with Tencent in China, but also advocates and supports Roblox’s other major global initiatives through collaborative innovation and engineering. This role reports to the Engineering Director.
You Will
- Design and build scalable platform using bare-metal DC machines or public cloud services
- Establish best practices of system monitoring, engineering, testing, and launch practice
- Always be the advocator of Roblox’s values, and empower the team to uphold the values
- Have strong technical and organizational leadership and willingness of mentoring (for Manager level applicants)
- Having bilingual language skills in English and Mandarin is a plus (for Manager level applicants only)
You Have
- Experience in distributed System design
- Experience in CI/CD and continuous testing framework (plus)
- Experience in Amazon Web Services Stacks (plus)
- Experience in Tencent Cloud Stacks (plus)
- Experience in recruiting and career development
- Data infrastructure expertise
- Database architecture
- Data warehousing architecture, EML (plus)
- Open Source data warehousing architecture, e.g. Apache Spike, etc.
