We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new Pipeline Developer (Houdini) and join our passionate and talented VFX team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

Pipeline Developer (Houdini)role:

The Pipeline Developer (Houdini) is a role dedicated to developing and supporting tools to accelerate workflow in the production of high quality Visual Effects imagery.

You will have involvement with revision control systems and support the team in developing and improving the pipeline. As part of the VFX team, you will play a key role in delivering cutting edge and immersive content.

This role would suit someone with a background in the VFX industry with strong proficiency in Houdini.

The Rebellion VFX team create or manipulate of any on-screen imagery that does not physically exist in real life that would otherwise be impractical or impossible to film in the context of a live-action shot.

Key Outcomes:

• To work hand-in-hand with our artists, providing the tools and technologies used to create the stunning imagery for our projects
• take initiative, develop software of the highest quality, and think beyond the scope of each development task
• Developing and supporting tools to accelerate workflow in the production of high quality Visual Effects imagery

Responsibilities;

• Participate in the complete VFX pipeline development cycle, from asset management to rendering and compositing
• Working with artists and supervisors to standardize tools, workflows and pipeline between different applications, particularly for Maya and Houdini

• Test and document new software and tools along with their adaptability;
• Provide technical advice, support and troubleshooting to end users, documenting, implementing bug fixes or suggesting solutions and workarounds;
• Offer solutions with great problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role in Games/VFX or Animation industry
• Experience with common VFX API’s (Maya, Houdini, NUKE, USD etc)
• Involvement with revision control systems
• Strong understanding of production processes for film and television
• Proficient in Python and/or C++
• Excellent knowledge of Houdini and Houdini Digital Asset
• Familiarity with Shotgun RV
• Experience working with Unreal
• Experience in 3D, modelling/animation/rendering techniques, imaging format, lighting, etc.;
• Experience in rigging
