That’s No Moon is an independent AAA game development studio established in 2021 by veterans of some of the most recognizable and critically acclaimed creative teams in the world, including Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, Santa Monica Studio, Bungie, PlayStation, and more. A remote-friendly studio with a central office and performance capture stage located in Los Angeles, That’s No Moon is creating the next generation of narrative-driven, genre-defining experiences built upon a culture of creativity, collaboration, responsible production practices, and individual empowerment. We are assembling a diverse team of passionate developers of a wide range of experience levels and backgrounds to help shape the future of our studio and projects.
We are seeking a Senior Photogrammetry Artist to help build the foundation of the asset library that will be used to build our worlds. Working in a collaboration with Art Direction, Tech Art, and Environment leads, you will acquire and process scan data to be used by the Environment modelers and material artists. You will be a part of a small team that drives our look development and sets the quality bar for the rest of the team. With your help we will push the industry to new heights of realism, gameplay and storytelling!
Responsibilities:
- Gather, process, and refine scan data to craft beautiful, photorealistic environments.
- Help guide pipelines and define best practices for working with photogrammetry content.
- Travel to scan locations, terrain, materials, and props, and work closely with external vendors for additional capture and processing of content.
- Collaborate with the other Environment Artists, helping them utilize scan data to efficiently build realistic, motivated environments.
- Work with the Lead Photogrammetry Artist to create and maintain our scan library, from organizing source images to final content in editor.
Requirements & Skills:
- Deep understanding of photogrammetry workflows, including delighting, processing, and cleanup
- Extremely proficient in Zbrush, Houdini, and Reality Capture (or similar software)
- Knowledge of physical photography and how aperture, shutter speed, and focal length work together
- Understanding of texture art creation and unwrapping assets for tiling, 0-1, and trim textures
- (Bonus) Experience with display calibration and HDR color grading
- (Bonus) Experience with Layered Material workflows
