ABOUT US: Archiact Interactive is a Vancouver-based Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) Studio that develops new and unique ways for people to play games and interact with each other. We partner with IP holders, large publishers, and tech brands to create and deliver immersive, high-end game experiences across multiple platforms with a special focus on building new tools for cutting edge emerging technology.

OUR GAMES: Recent titles include DOOM 3: VR Edition (on PSVR), FREEDIVER: Triton Down (on PC, PSVR and Oculus Quest), and MARVEL: Dimension of Heroes (a smartphone-powered Superhero experience built for Lenovo Mirage AR). We are currently in the early stages of several new and highly innovative projects with leading industry partners and are searching for the best and the brightest to help us transform the world of VR and AR game development. We are a Vancouver-based studio but are happy to consider candidates from all over Canada to work remotely.

ROLE OVERVIEW : We are looking for a passionate student who is keen to gain some hands-on work experience supporting the HR department with a focus on fostering our company culture and assisting with the development of our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. If you're looking for a fast-paced, challenging and fun HR opportunity in a growing organization, this position is for you!

This People & Culture Co-op is a 3 months fixed term starting from January - March 2022.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the HR Manager and HR Generalist you will assist with reviewing the company’s HR processes (recruitment, onboarding, etc….) with the goal of improving consistency and enhancing the employee/candidate experience with an eye to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.
  • Assist with the creation of the studio’s first formal EDI plan.
  • Source, review, and recommend EDI related learning resources.
  • Research standards, best practices, reports, and scientific studies relevant to EDI initiatives.
  • Form meaningful relationships with online communities to support the company’s EDI strategy.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to plan, launch and coordinate ongoing EDI initiatives.
  • Develop resources such as presentations, training, guidelines, etc... to educate employees and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

MUST HAVE:

  • Must be enrolled in a post-secondary publicly funded Canadian institution working towards a Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, People Operations or Communication & Culture.
  • A keen interest in organizational Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional time-management and organization skills with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to handle multiple priorities.
  • A flexible attitude with the ability to change gears quickly and shift priorities in a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to take action on emerging challenges.
  • A positive self-starter with a strong work ethic and a good sense of humour.
  • A team-player attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion when managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to build strong relationships, establish trust and communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, candidates and customers. We treat people like humans, not resources!

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience working with BambooHR or equivalent HRIS system.
