Summary

People and Culture Business Partner

Big Fish is looking for you – the next member of our talented and dynamic People and Culture Team! You will work closely with all areas and disciplines to assess business needs and deliver programs that fuel Big Fish’s strategy, engagement, and growth. You will collaborate with the P&C team on projects in the areas of retention, culture, engagement, company policies and processes, P&C law, organizational development, learning and development, employee relations, compensation, career development and workforce planning.

In partnership with senior leaders, managers, and employees, the core responsibilities include:

• Ensuring strategic P&C goals, policies, and programs are aligned with business strategy and initiatives
• Develop, implement, measure, and lead key initiatives and projects in areas such as change management, compensation/total rewards, metrics/analytics, employee relations/engagement/development, culture, diversity, performance, talent management, organizational effectiveness, management capability/leadership development, and policies/procedures and compliance
• Provide management coaching to front line managers and senior leaders
• Advance talent management plans and programs
• Partner with business leaders to influence organizational design and change initiatives
• Liaise with employees to understand challenges, perspectives, and engagement
• Use data, analytic aptitude, and P&C acumen to assess results, influence action, and make recommendations
• Develop high trust, productive relationships with key business units
• Use data to evaluate effectiveness of current programming and development of new programs
• Act as an internal and external thought leader, sharing best practices and bringing them back to strengthen and improve Big Fish’s efforts
• Partner with Talent acquisition team to develop strategy, outreach, brand awareness
• Partner with global corporate P&C team on rolling out global initiatives

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of demonstrated career progression as a P&C business partner or generalist, spanning a broad variety of P&C domains.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and ability to deal with ambiguity
• BS/BA degree.
• High tech or gaming industry experience preferred.
• Project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and navigate complex business matters (e.g., strategy, customer segments, competitors, business models, et. al) and apply systems thinking.
• Demonstrated knowledge of data analytics, and proven P&C solutions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws such as ERISA, COBRA, ADA, and other federal and CA state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunity employment
• Track record of quality execution, organization skills, attention to detail, and high level of accuracy
• Familiar with leave laws FMLA and CFRA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across a broad range of employee experience levels and professions
• Proficient in MS Office suite with advanced Excel skills, and other software tools and services

Qualifications

Desired

• HRIS – Workday experience is a plus
• A PHR/SPHR/GPHR certification and/or SHRM CP/SHRM SCP
• Experience navigating P&C matters in the states of California and WA
