Payroll Specialist [Operations]

Job Description
As a Payroll Specialist at Ubisoft Entertainment Sweden AB you’ll play a crucial role in our Operations team – paving the way for our game developers to thrive and perform at their best.
Your main task will be to manage our employee compensation process together with an accounting team for more than 800 international office workers and game-developers. We handle all payroll in-house which will allow you to implement new strategies, best working practice and respond to the company’s needs quickly and with agility.
This is a permanent position based in Malmö Sweden, with the opportunity to work partially from home according to our Flexible Workplace Policy. Please apply in English (our company language), and we’ll check your application asap!
What you'll do
- Managing compensation packages using payroll software (Hogia);
- Reconcile and posting journal entries for payroll related data on main ERP tool (Peoplesoft);
- Investigating new methods, best working practice and tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our payroll process;
- Calculating pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime;
- Updating electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay-rates and employee status changes;
- Servicing ad-hoc queries regarding payroll from employees and upper management;
- Investigating and resolving any discrepancies in payroll;
- Preparing and submitting reports with payroll information to supervisors and head quarters (Ubisoft Paris).
Qualifications
What you'll bring
You as a person are adaptable, proactive and thrive in a dynamic work environment. You'll have a service-mindset and great understanding for the concept of confidentiality. Ideally, you're also experienced in entering data with attention to detail and have excellent math skills to make the necessary calculations. You have excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills in both English and Swedish
Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
- Proven work experience with payroll;
- Experience updating and reviewing both best practice and toolsets available;
- Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant payroll software (e.g. Hogia);
- Solid knowledge of relevant Swedish legislation, labor law policies and regulations;
- Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving;
- Proven work experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel);
- Familiarity with general accounting principles (desirable);
