Payroll Accountant

We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Accountant for our EMEA Payroll team, covering 8 countries with more than 850 employees. You will report to the Senior Manager, Payroll and will be apart of the wider Global Payroll team built to work collaboratively across countries to ensure consistency, compliance and accuracy in local and global payroll data and processes.
The team works closely with internal (employees, HR and IT) and external stakeholders (payroll agents, benefit brokers, government agencies, etc.) to ensure that all our employees are paid accurately and on time every month.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and maintain all accounting related data including output accuracy and its impact on financials
- Partner with Payroll Manager to design, document and implement procedures to streamline payroll processes and KPIs
- Partner with Human Resources to maintain and update payroll related employee records (salaries, benefit deductions, or other ad hoc withholdings)
- Take proper corrective action where needed to achieve compliance and accuracy
- Work to enhance accounting process based on system capabilities while maintaining internal controls to adhere to SOX guidelines
- Work with internal and external auditors to solve queries related to payroll
- Responsible for adhering to the GDPR regulations within finance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of an Accounting education
- Payroll and general accounting experience
- Prior experience using a 3rd party payroll system
- General knowledge of accounting policies, practices and procedures
- Strong Excel and Google sheet skills
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee data
