Partner Engineering Manager
Your Mission
As a Partner Engineering Manager, you will utilise your leadership skills, development knowledge, and understanding of Improbable Multiplayer Services (after training) to grow your Partner Engineers and help them to solve complex game and services development scenarios for various projects.
To ensure the success of our game development services and solutions (like SpatialOS and zeuz), Improbable offers support to companies and developers in a partnering fashion. You and your team will contribute to games and services both in development and production, partnering with AAA studios - you will be able to mentor and help your team to effectively execute on work, such as quickly scaling a game to handle a large number of players, integrate social features with the game, add persistence to the game, or more.
Areas for Impact
- You will create a safe space for your team to stretch themselves and innovate while delivering projects within agreed upon scope and timelines
- Using your extensive experience you’ll interface with customers and facilitate your team’s ability to deliver bespoke solutions and successfully launch games using Improbable Multiplayer Services and our suite of tools.
- Work directly with other Engineering Managers across the business to drive delivery efficiency, engineering best practices, and create a culture of customer focus.
- Be a focal point for all in-depth technical problems across all internal and external games studios, covering all areas of gameplay development, helping solve some of the hardest challenges within the industry.
- Working directly with our customers, you and your team will establish technical requirements from creative or design-led pitches.
- You will become a master of technical services, engaging with multiple internal teams and a variety of customers, game engines, and technologies as we continue to grow.
We'd like to hear from you if you identify with the following
- Hunger to learn and improve
- Demonstrable knowledge and excitement around gaming and/or game development
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external teams and stakeholders
- Extensive experience with pastoral management, servant leadership, and situational leadership styles, in order to level up your team and help them progress in their career
- Strong understanding of systems architecture and Engineering best practices (e.g. testing, SRE, observability)
- Experience with cloud computing, microservices architecture, and launching services
While we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role. If you identify with the team and mission, but not all of our requirements, then please still apply.
