Role Overview:
PlayStationisseeking a hardworking Paralegal who wants to work on ground-breaking tech product development, IP, and entertainment issues.
This position supports the PlayStation video game products and services. PlayStation offers the opportunity to work in a technology company with an entertainment focus, in a casual environment that provides ambitious legal issues.
What you will be doing:
Working closely with PlayStation Studios game development teams you will be a crucial support for the lawyers in the team working closely on broader projects, as well as gaining experience to operate independently on certain work streams. Building strong relationships with business stakeholders and within the global legal team. A good fit will love technology, cutting-edge legal issues and working closely with a team.
Some examples of the work involved includes:
- Review video games in development to provide intellectual property clearance and confirm compliance with applicable regulations, company standards and industry standards.
- In consultation with Department lawyers, provide advice to PlayStation Studio stakeholders and the wider PlayStation business stakeholders.
- Provide expertise and support in legal drafting - e.g. standard contracts, release letters and standard IP licences.
- Collaborate with other paralegals in the legal team both in London and globally to provide practical and pragmatic global feedback in a timely manner.
- Coordinate legal support for product releases, working closely with client teams across business units to understand release schedules and coordinate legal review and engagement.
- Provide support and assistance on Ad hoc legal projects.
What we're looking for:
- Proven paralegal experience in Intellectual Property or Media/ Entertainment Law - in-house or at a Law Firm.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Paralegal experience.
- Background in all or some of the following areas: Copyright, Entertainment, general IP/Technology and Commercial contracts.
- Ability to multi-task and optimally assess priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Creative problem solver.
- Experience in entertainment industry a plus.
- Experience with technology and video games a plus.
- A sense of humour required.
