Communications Manager

We’re looking for a preeminent and ardent Communications Manager to help us bring our new AAA game IP, Everywhere, to market.

This role is responsible for managing all press and public relation communication in support of Build a Rocket Boy and Everywhere. We’re looking for someone who can effectively manage the ebb and flow communication pipeline and cultivate the necessary relationships that generate premium coverage opportunities. As our new Communications Manager, you’re an outgoing professional who thrives on making connections and keeping your finger on the pulse of the industry. You know the news before it breaks and the levers to pull which generate the intended coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the Brand Director you’ll help build an effective internal and external communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics.
• Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media.
• Coordinate all public relations activities according to the launch schedule and cadence.
• Work closely with the social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media.
• Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within entertainment and game industry media.
• Manage media inquiries, interview requests and public speaking engagements.
• Draft copy for internal messaging as-well-as press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations.
• Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis.
• Continually evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising with other members of the publishing team.
• Build relationships with thought leaders and events that grow awareness for the game and company.
• Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them.

Requirements:

• BA/MA degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience working in the field of public relations for the games and entertainment industries.
• Strong relationships with international entertainment and game industry media outlets.
• Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns that work globally and locally.
• Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills with knowledge of SEO and ASO.
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Multilingual and event planning experience a plus.
