Outsourcing Manager

Studio Gobo is an established AAA games studio, part of the Keywords family. Our team has worked on multiple world-class projects for companies such as Tencent, Disney, Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Projects include Hogwarts Legacy, Synced: Off-Planet, For Honor, Marvel Super Heroes: Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars: Rise Against the Empire playsets for Disney Infinity 3.0.

We are looking for an Outsourcing Manager to join us on the next chapter of our studio's journey, working on an exciting new IP.

The role reports to the senior producer, and they will be the main contact and owner of the relationships with our chosen outsourcing partners. Working closely with our Team Leads, Producers and Directors, they will be responsible for implementing and improving pipelines and processes, methods, and tools to deliver high-quality content for many aspects of the project's development. They will drive the communication with external teams to oversee and secure that we deliver on time, on budget and with the quality required.

The role requires the ability to track progress, achieve the production goals, and ensure that both the production team and the outsourcing partner are well aligned on the overarching project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have several years' experience in either production roles or art production disciplines within a game development studio, with prior responsibility for relationship and production management with external partners.

An Outsourcing Manager at Studio Gobo...

• Will work with the internal production team, leads and directors to determine the project's external outsourcing requirements.
• Research, build, implement, and manage complete end-to-end outsourcing production pipeline.
• Create all required documentation for outsourcing tests and briefs, working with the teams' subject matter experts as required.
• Manage external production budget, negotiate vendor contracts and partner fees, ensuring each partner complies with contract terms.
• Continually research potential partners and carry out all required due diligence and vendor testing to ensure we are always aligned with the best external teams for our game's development needs.
• Liaise with, troubleshoot, communicate and solve issues related to our external development partners.
• Accurately track, report actual and forecast costs in all aspects related to the external production of content.
• Manage all tools related to our external partner engagement such as Shotgun, Jira or similar.
• Support and maintain efficient feedback and review pipelines with all our externally developed content in relation to our studio and game team best practices and standards in excellence.
• Work proactively to manage the logistical side of complex projects with multiple dependencies.

Things we'd love to see from you:

• Prior experience of managing outsourcing in the games industry or similar.
• At least one shipped console or PC game.
• Knowledge and experience of various games development and production management tools (Jira, Maya, Unreal, Confluence, Shotgun, Excel or similar).
• Knowledge of game development and production methodology.
• Strong communication skills, meticulously organised and strong attention to detail.
• A passion for character action and narrative-led games.
