Gearbox Software is looking for a talented, passionate, Outsourcing Art Director to join the team. This person will be responsible for all external art outsourcing.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain long term relationships with external art vendors
  • Negotiate favorable contracts that align with scope and budget
  • Manage external artists and provide feedback
  • Manage the external art vendor schedules, deliverables, and day-to-day communication
  • Track status of art assets and provide supporting materials required for production
  • Develop the external art pipeline into a highly efficient workflow that maintains quality while meeting budgetary constraints
  • Work to expand outsourcing efforts while improving efficiency, savings, and quality

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as an Outsourcing Manager or Art Director in the video game industry
  • Previous experience sourcing and managing vendors or external teams
  • Ability to solve complex production problems efficiently
  • Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
  • Knowledgeable of art content production pipelines
  • Ambitious and passionate about quality results
  • Ability to communicate well both written and orally
  • Comfortable in a dynamic work environment where there are many changes and iterations to improve the game.
