Job Overview
We are looking for an Operations System Engineer to develop and maintain dynamic support for the game development team, in enterprise-scale distributed systems.
You will be a valuable member of the IT Operations team, with ownership of key responsibilities of maintaining the stability and health of various back-end environments, as well as Version Control System administration and server load management.
You will be working in close collaboration with DevOps and Build Engineering, to achieve a stable and optimized environment, for rapidly changing requirements.
In order to fulfill your responsibilities, you will get the opportunity to engineer and build a wide range of metrics collectors, gathering and analyzing the state of multiple high load servers, and automatically relaying key data, and notify of predictable trends.
Reports To
This position is based in Guildford, UK and reports to the Internal Services Manager.
What will you do?
- Own the health of a broad set of BE services
- Maintain VCS (Perforce)
- Develop and maintain VCS tools
- Develop and deploy custom metrics collectors for monitoring of your services
- Use your expertise to collaborate with game development and plan for growing and changing environments
What are we looking for?
- High load perforce server (admin/super user) experience
- Linux configuring experience: performance tuning, system hardening, system issues troubleshooting
- Understanding of Linux subsystems
- High load servers maintaining experience
- Bash/python/powershell or other scripting languages
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- Setup and maintain web services with various BE/FE stack (python, ruby, golang, php, java, js)
- Experience in web applications (python, golang, ruby, golang, php, java, js) debugging and tuning
- Datacenter admin experience
- Container cluster maintenance (AWS/Docker/Kubernetes)
