Job Description
We are currently looking for a talented Network Programmer with previous games industry experience to join the Weta Gameshop team and fill this critical role.
As a Network Programmer at Magic Leap, you will be a part of the core game development team, working in close conjunction with other game programmers, designers and content creators to create networking systems and multiplayer functionality which is efficient, optimised and can be easily scaled.

Responsibilities
- Design a real time multiplayer architecture, which is both efficient and performant, both on the client and server side .
- Develop the networking layer for a shared multiplayer AR experience, including helping to define APIs and frameworks for the rest of the code team.
- Work with game and level designers to conceptualise and create adaptive and scalable game-level network features as required.
- Implement internally written or commercially available plugins, ensuring compatibility across all existing systems and toolsets.
- Mentor junior game programmers and assist with their professional development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of games industry experience, shipped at least 1 title in a network/online programmer capacity
- Experience with real time multiplayer solutions
- In depth knowledge of C# and C++
- Experience with Unity is highly desirable, but not essential.
