Network/Backend Programmer (Kraków)

About the position

The Network/Backend programmer will prototype, develop and maintain backend services and network related features as well as develop and maintain the game codebase to use the backend features properly.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, integrate and/or create online services and make them work within the game client to a degree which allows for the gameplay team to take over
• Analyze existing backend solutions both integrated and not-yet integrated with the engine to select the right tools for the job
• Integrate necessary libraries and services with UE4
• Support and enable the design team by exposing existing and creating new backend capabilities
• Document the work to transfer knowledge and enable users (gameplay programmer) to understand how to use the systems and features
• Make the game run smoothly in server-client architecture

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position
• Strong practical knowledge of C++
• Practical knowledge of game backends (example: Steam, PSN, Gamesparks)
• Practical knowledge of backend related topic (example: security, scaling, microservices)
• Professional experience in backend development for a shipped game
• Good communication and team skills
• Experience with UE4 will be a plus
