Narrative Designer - World of Tanks Blitz

Job Overview

MS-1 is Wargaming's premier mobile development studio behind World of Tanks Blitz, a renowned cross-platform shooter, and World of Warships Blitz. As a Narrative Designer at MS-1 you'll work with designers and artists to create characters, flesh out their backstories, craft stories around locations, and then work with the Lead Game Designer and Creative Director on how best to weave that fiction into the unique world the team is hard at work building. You'll create in-game texts, write character barks and other narrative materials while also working with the marketing team to deliver the stories of this world to players.

What will you do?

- Provide context and meaning to the gameplay experience

- Write creative multi-genre stories

- Create descriptions and backstories for characters, locations, objects, events

- Ensure that all narrative reference documents are up to date and accessible to various teams

What are we looking for?

- 2+ years of experience as a narrative designer/writer (games, films, TV, etc.)

- Good understanding of all aspects of the narrative design development process, including design methodology, craftsmanship, production, and collaboration with external cinematic and voice vendors

- Strong portfolio of writing samples (a couple of recent samples that showcase the required abilities)

- Experience working on a live game ("game as a service")

- Knowledge in a variety of genres, such as Historical fiction, Fantasy Sci-Fi, etc.

- Native or C2 level of English language

What additional skills will help you stand out?

- experience of world building for video or table top games and also playing World of Tanks franchise games

As the role is based in Berlin, we provide a hybrid office strategy, and we require 3 days in office per week
