Department overview:
Part of the global Creative Arts team the Music Department incorporates both Music Supervision and Music Production and caters for all the music needs for PlayStation game titles and marketing campaigns worldwide.
As Music Supervisor you’ll be working with clients across game development and marketing to help define the creative direction of music in each project.
You’ll be responsible for managing all the music needs (including managing music budgets & deliverables) in any given project.
What you’ll be doing:
- Music searches, track negotiations and licensing
- Composer sourcing, negotiating composer deals, overseeing the creative process and relationship management
- Working closely with other members of the Music department and collaborating with other Creative Arts departments in a global creative team
- Maintaining and developing relationships with clients – in particular game dev Producers and Marketing
- Liaising regularly with internal Audio Producers, Legal and Finance teams
- Maintaining internal Music Licensing admin and processes
- Soundtrack release coordination
What we are looking for:
- At least 2 years Music Supervision experience (including licensing commercial music and working with composers on original pieces)
- Experience in music supervising advertising campaigns
- A passion for, thorough knowledge of, and an open-mind towards music
- Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of music rights
- Ability to forge & maintain great relationships with multiple clients
- Well honed negotiating skills
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects at different stages of development
- Strong relationships with rights holders within the music industry
- Interest/experience in video games, interactive music & music technology
- Excellent attention to detail for deal memos, spreadsheets etc
- A strong work ethic including tenacity & diligence
- Self-driven and able to maintain high standards when working autonomously
- Enjoys being a team player
- Prepared to go out to gigs, social events and network with clients regularly
- Driven to keep learning and keep abreast of both music and games industry developments (including emerging artists and composers, game soundtracks etc)
