Multiplayer Producer

Ascendant Studios is looking for a Multiplayer Producer to guide the scheduling, scoping, and budget of the multiplayer side of our project. Applicant MUST have a background in games production. The ideal applicant will have previously worked on LiveOps for a multiplayer shooter. They will have had experience managing cross disciplinary teams through preproduction and development, and will have a strong technical background. Experience working on a multiplayer project in UE4 is a huge plus.

This is a full time position. We are all currently working remotely due to Covid-19, but once we return the position may either be based in our office in San Rafael, CA, or remain fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the leadership team to create and maintain a roadmap of features and milestones for the multiplayer side of the project
• Help to translate single player pillars into the multiplayer experience and maintain cohesion between project goals
• Assist in identifying staffing requirements and team budgets.
• Manage the development process and dependencies between teams and with external partners. Scope, prioritize, and ensure that quality standards are met across all departments.
• Anticipate, identify, and mitigate risks and bottlenecks throughout the development process.
• Coordinate between the internal team and external development partners. May occasionally require travel or unusual hours.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a producer or project manager in a video game studio working on a multiplayer project, including at least one full production cycle in a leadership role.
• Production experience on doing live ops and post-launch support on a multiplayer title
• Experience working with agile methodologies
• Strong technical background, has previously managed engineering teams or been an engineer on a software project.
• Commitment to building and maintaining a healthy schedule and collaborative, friendly team culture.
• Ability to effectively communicate goals, requirements, and dependencies between different departments inside and outside the company
• Great at creating and maintaining complex schedules, as well as making sure those schedules are followed.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organization, and multitasking ability.
• Comfortable with raising concerns, making tough decisions, and resolving interpersonal conflicts.

Good to Have

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
• Scrum Master certification
• Shipped multiplayer title in Unreal Engine 4
• Previous experience in a startup environment building a team from the ground up
• Experience with procedural generation
