Multiplayer Networking Engineer (Contract)

We are in search of an experienced multiplayer networking engineer to help design and build sample games and tutorials that showcase Unity’s new cloud technologies. These samples will introduce developers to our online services and demonstrate the best way to make modern, online experiences in a full-featured vertical slice.
Join a small multidisciplinary team focused on rapid development utilizing exciting technologies for matchmaking, game server hosting, live content updates, player challenges and more. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical multiplayer engineer with experience in game development, rapid prototyping, and collaborating with a team of artists, engineers, and producers.
Responsibilities
- Develop core networking and multiplayer systems for sample game vertical slices
- Integrate Connected Games and other bleeding-edge online service offerings
- Ensure projects' structure, assets, and pipelines meet the high standards that an example project should demonstrate
- Be ready to roll up your sleeves and do anything within your power to ensure the samples are the highest quality possible
Requirements
- Expertise in C# or C++
- Built and released a complete game or experience using Unity or another engine
- Real-time networking experience with UDP transport, netcode, socket programming, data compression, and/or multiplayer game systems
- Experience working on a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with APIs and SDKs
