Position Purpose
Th e Motion Designer role will report to the Art Manager and will be expected to collaborate within a team of UI/UX designers and artists to create high level motion graphics and cinematic in - game cutscenes in Unity . This position will work with a team in Eugene, OR on MetaTeq projects.
Essential Job Functions
- U s e visual design in motion and video to communicate ideas, concepts, and stories .
- Create cinematic cut scenes in Unity Cinemachine .
- Understand what the Art Lead requires for the project, then research and storyboard/work from storyboards .
- Collaborate with the art and design team to define motion language for the UI components in the product .
Qualifications/Skills Sets
- Understanding of 3D modeling fundamentals and know-how (Maya, 3DS Max, etc.)
- Ability to create both 2D and 3D assets.
- Proficiency with Cinema 4D, Adobe After Effects, as well as other Adobe Creative Suite software.
- U nderstanding of the Unity Game Engine and Cinemachine .
- Inter-department work with Engineering, Design, and Production as needed .
- Excellent graphic design skills (design, layout, and typography) .
- Organized and detailed with excellent written and verbal communication skills .
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-starter and able to work independently .
- Interest in UI/UX design a plus .
- Strong storytelling skill s .
Purpose-Driven Games Specific Requirements
- US Citizen (due to project requirements)
Education & Experience Required
HS Diploma required; BA degree preferred.
Must have a base foundation of graphic design/motion graphics, with a minimum of 3 + years' experience in motion graphics. Cinematography is a plus. Unity game engine is a pl us.
