Motion Design Lead - Creative Services (Marketing)

Job Description

Ludia’s Creative Services Department is currently looking for an experienced, patient and collaborative motion design lead. Besides being an expert in your field technically, we are also looking for a great communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills.

As a motion design lead, you will assist in the brainstorming, conceptualizing, storyboarding and creation of videos and other visuals. These visuals will include trailers, UA ads, app preview videos and corporate videos. You will collaborate with all departments within Ludia including our Community Management team, Production Teams, Communications, HR and Recruiting. You'll be involved in every step of the production of videos and will need to take part in greater brainstorming discussions.

In addition to being an expert in your field technically we are also looking for an effective leader and communicator seeing as you will be managing a team of motion designers both locally and remotely. You should be incessantly curious, creative and innovative. You should also be a strong communicator who can identify strengths and weaknesses in order to maximize effectiveness.

In this role you will:

• Manage the day-to-day tasks of the motion design team
• Manage a team of Motion Designers which includes recurring weeklies with team members, quarterly evaluations of direct reports and daily sprint meetings
• Work with the Creative Director, Creative Product Managers and other Creative Services team members to translate production asks into creative ideas.
• Create storyboards and scripts
• Break down complex or potentially dry concepts to be accessible, entertaining, and thought-provoking
• Participate in creative brainstorming sessions
• Participate in creative reviews
• Create documentation and training materials for when onboarding new team members

Qualifications

We are looking for:

• 10+ years of experience as a motion designer
• 3+ years of motion design lead experience with a proven track record of independently leading projects and managing designers
• Expert with design and editing software such as After Effects, and Premiere Pro
• A quick learner and self-starter, with an inherent sense of empathy and ability to lead others and work collaboratively
• A willingness to provide regular, direct and impactful feedback in team meetings and engage other team members to help them grow their interpersonal and design skills
• A highly detailed leader with an ability to efficiently lead teams in solving high-level design projects.
• High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; meticulously organized and must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
• Video Game industry experience is a big plus
• Strong English language skills both written and spoken.

• Not afraid to be in front of a camera, do voiceover work
• Fluently bilingual in both French and English
• Spanish language skills are a plus seeing as you will be working with designers in other countries
• Powerpoint proficiency
