MoCap Intern

Gearbox Software is looking for a Motion Capture Intern to join our game development team! This is a temporary position and is not expected to be long-term.
Our intern positions are only open to current or graduating students.
Responsibilities:
On Set:
- Help the Assistant Director during shoots
- Run video playback of mocap takes as well as audio and video reference
- Look for fallen or swapped markers and help marker up actors
- Help manage and clean mocap supplies (suits, markers, props, computers, cameras, etc.)
- Work as a camera operator during shoots
- Assist during facial capture shoots
- Help with R & D and test shoots
After Shoots:
- Track and retarget mocap body files
- Process facial data from mocap and audio shoots
- Convert reference videos
Qualifications:
- Have great attention to detail and be extremely organized
- Be an optimistic and positive teammate
- Have a strong desire to learn and be professional
- Take on tasks and work independently to complete them
- Have a passion for games and game development
Bonus Points For:
- Programming background
- Animation background with knowledge of Maya and Motionbuilder
- Previous Motion Capture experience
- Familiarity with mocap pipelines and custom tools/scripts (capturing, tracking, solving, retargeting, etc.)
- Be willing to wear a mocap suit or face markers for testing and pickups
