Tangent Animation is currently recruiting for an experienced Modelling Supervisor to work collaboratively with our studio team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and perform intricate CG models and oversee the work of the modelers.
• Decipher and communicate creative direction provided by the Art Director and VFX Supervisor to the modelers and make sure the instruction is delivered on schedule and on budget.
• Supervise intricacy of the models, determine and implement standards for the department, ensuring that the models work well for the existing pipeline

• Implement daily one-on-one rounds with Modelers and problem-solve any artistic and technical concerns and ascertain when the models are prepared for review.
• Join other departments’ reviews as per requirements to address modeling questions or concerns
• Work in partnership with other departments and VFX Supervisor to convey Modeling requirements and provide for other departments needs.

• Along with the VFX Supervisor and Production Supervisor, bid the schedule.

• Implement naming conventions and versioning for all models directory structure.
• Accountable for multi-picture outline with regards to how 3D Models will be implemented in the progressing pipeline.

• Proactively sustain a reliable working methodology by dynamically providing tips and tricks amongst shows, collaborating with other Modeling Supervisors and staying up-to-date on other shows’ progressions and initiative while staying on top of the various tools.
• Underline cost effects of requests or changes.

Requirements

• 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience as a modeling artist in an animated TV Series, feature film or film production environment,

•College Diploma or equivalent in 2D/ 3D computer graphics, visual arts or other relevant qualifications or similar experience.

• Suitably raise concerns and solutions to Production Management efficiently.

• Keep the crew informed on show changes and requirements by facilitating meetings with artists.

• Work in partnership with the Production Supervisors in the handling of the department and to establish the schedule and make sure that deadlines and quotas are met.

• Work with the Production Supervisor on casting shots/assignments to Modelers.
• Mentor artists to provide guidance, experience, and insight. Deliver reviews with Production •Supervisor to team members and be engaged in resolving performance-related issues.
• Encourage a collaborative and fun workplace, inspiring morale, fostering purposeful discussion, and positive work ethic.

• Make sure that Modeling new hires are provided the necessary training.
