Mobile App Developer

Summary

The FUT Team is looking for a Hybrid Mobile App Developer whose primary responsibility will be the development of a hybrid web/mobile companion application for the popular FIFA franchise, available on iOS, Android, and modern web browsers.

You’ll be involved in helping to deliver new features from conception to deployment, as well as maintaining existing features that are enjoyed by people around the world. Your passion for building great web and mobile user experiences will be something you’ll get to make use of every day.

Responsibilities:

Primary

  • Design and develop data/logic systems to support and run new features within the application across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, modern web browsers)
  • Develop testable code and write unit tests to ensure a high level of quality and stability
  • Maintain and update the application’s native software layer (Apache Cordova) to stay up to date with the latest technical recommendations and app store requirements

Secondary

  • Assist with new feature ideation and assessing technical feasibility
  • Run diagnostics and maintain metrics against application code to ensure a high level of performance
  • Write and maintain documentation for technology systems, tools, and processes within the team
  • Write tool scripts that can be shared with the team to help improve day-to-day productivity
  • Help with the development of new UI components and views for upcoming features

Skills/Experience

Required

  • Mobile application development (e.g. Java, Objective-C, C#)
  • Web application development (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML)
  • Hybrid application development frameworks (e.g. Cordova/Ionic/PhoneGap, React Native, Xamarin, Electron)
  • Build/runtime automation toolkits (e.g. Gradle, NodeJS)
  • JavaScript workflow automation toolkits (e.g. Gulp, Grunt)
  • Source code management (e.g. Perforce, Git, Subversion)
  • Understanding of web-based network communication (e.g. Fetch/XHR, XML, JSON, REST)

Preferred

  • Integration with mobile 1st party purchasing environments (e.g. App Store, Google Play)
  • Python
  • JavaScript unit testing frameworks (e.g. QUnit, Jest)

Nice To Have

  • Integration with game console 1st party purchasing environments (e.g. Sony, Microsoft)
  • CSS3 Animations
  • WebGL
  • User experience (UX) knowledge
