Blizzard is looking for a versatile and creative Environment Concept Artist to help us build a new Warcraft mobile project where your goal is to help bring an entire world to life! Everything from landscapes, structures, props and more - we’re looking for someone who has imaginative ideas and knows how to translate them to a stylized level.
Importantly, this will also include giving direction on art assets produced by external partners, thus previous experience working with external artists is highly desired. You should have an ability to provide clear paint-over and verbal feedback to others, both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
- Help define and maintain the artistic vision as set forth by the Art Director & Leads
- Develop production concepts for structures, props, and environments that fit within the Warcraft universe and push the storytelling in our environments
- Ability to push Warcraft environments into a stylized look
- Partnering with other artists, designers, and engineers to collaborate on creatively complex assignments to develop an inspiring art vision for this new Blizzard experience
- Ability to collaborate with external partners and own the quality control over incoming art assets, by providing paint overs and feedback, to deliver quality assets to the development team
- Create benchmark art assets and best practices guides
Requirements
- Experience creating concept artwork for animation, film and/or video games
- Experienced with digital content creation tools such as Photoshop, Painter, etc
- An understanding of architecture concepts and a keen eye towards form, shape, structure, and silhouette in regard to design
- Excellent fundamental art ability including a firm understanding of perspective, light, color, and a breadth of subject matter applicable to environments
- Self-motivated, collaborative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective feedback
- Understanding of the distinctive Blizzard Entertainment visual style and a passion to push it to the next level
Pluses:
- Organic 3D modeling ability
- Working knowledge 3D art techniques & software packages such as Maya, 3Ds Max, Zbrush, or Mudbox
- Strong foundation in the traditional arts, including but not limited to architecture, landscape painting, and illustration
- Have shipped an AAA PC or console title as an environment artist
- Experience working with outsourcing
