World of Warcraft

Blizzard Entertainment’s Creative Marketing Services is looking for a mid-level Graphic Designer and Game-capture artist to assist with marketing creative for World of Warcraft. This will include creative support for major releases, content updates, social posts and WoW eSports. The designer must understand the audience and value of effective marketing. High-quality concepting and art diretion skills are a must. Additionally, the right candidate will have an awareness of current trends in marketing, online communication, and new media. Strong communication skills are needed for presenting concepts and art directing.

Responsibilities
● Collaborate with partners in Creative Services, as well as the Warcraft brand team and development team.
● Build original graphic assets for use in marketing, social media, and editorial projects.
● In-game screen capture, both motion and static, for use promoting the game in ad campaigns, social placements, blogs and shop pages.
● Versioning assets to various specifications including resolution, aspect ratios, and file types for various viewing platforms.
● Manipulate image composition and perform basic paint overs when necessary.
● Maintain knowledge of digital technology and social media trends, media requirements, and standard methodologies with an emphasis on mobile games.

Requirements
● Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a graphic designer.
● In-depth knowledge and love for World of Warcraft.
● A versatile technical skills, ability to work within game engines, and a boundary-pushing creative talent for re-purposing game assets for marketing uses.
● Strong conceptual skills and the ability to implement creative optimally and at the highest level of quality.
● Comprehensive understanding of design principles and typography. Outstanding eye for composition and color.
● Experience with building HTML5 banner ads with Adobe Animate.
● Motion graphics and video editing with After Effects and Adobe Premiere.
● Expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator.
● In-depth understanding of design fundamentals, keyart, typography, color.
● Ability to concept and storyboard animated/video ad placements, social media posts, and presentations.
● Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
● Passion for entertainment and pop culture: story, art, games, esports, music, movies, graphic novels, etc.

Pluses
● In-depth understanding of Blizzard games, lore, and art styles.
● Experience in the game industry
● Experience with digital photography, and/or machinima
