The Microservices Engineer, based in our Austin studio, will work on backend infrastructure services to assist with our release and development pipelines. As a Microservices engineer working on backend infrastructure services you should have a solid knowledge in domain driven design, micro services, event sourcing, containerization, and orchestration. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. Develop and maintain scalable micro services which developers will use to interact with and understand the release pipeline Work closely with Lead and mid-level engineers on managing deployments and maintaining test specs Help monitor and track performance and reliability of our services Monitor production environment and debug/maintain as needed Document systems and processes Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by Cloud Imperium that is reasonably consistent with employee’s skills and experience What do we expect from our Microservices Engineer? Proficiency in languages like Scala, Rust, Java, C++ along with an understanding of data structures and algorithms Ability to analyze problems logically and come up with effective solutions Capable communicator able to effectively work within a team and a willingness to help and learn from others Good understanding of UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms Proficiency in version control systems with an understanding of branching, merging, pull requests. Keeping up with latest industry trends and technologies and engaging in ongoing professional development and education Experience with Perforce concepts and workflows So, if you are an enthusiastic and self-starting Microservices Engineer please apply for this role immediately!
