Metagame Back-end Engineer

As a Metagame Back-end Engineer at Embark you will be a game maker in a team creating and developing metagame experiences for our players.

You will be part of a creative game team and work closely with designers and other engineers on the design and implementation of different parts of our metagame providing players with fresh experiences. Your role is primarily to craft and help operate the services we need to support our features, and share your experience with the team making everyone better.

At Embark we believe in creating smaller teams of well-aligned experts that can be trusted to create games and keep them running.

Example of responsibilities

• Collaborate and work closely with fellow software engineers and game designers
• Build and improve services and features to engage our players
• Continuously improve the way we design and test things to enable sustainable delivery
• Contribute in architecture discussions
• Participate in the on call rotation for the services the team builds

We would love if you have

• A passion for interactive experiences, games and new technologies
• A solid understanding about distributed systems and experience building them
• A good grasp of performance, optimization and data structures
• The ability to be a great team player with good communication skills
• Professional English communication skills
• Experience from game development is meritorious
