thatgamecompany is looking for a talented Media Designer to help grow our user acquisition efforts on a contracted basis (40 hours a week until Dec 16th) with a possible extension to February 2023 . You will be joining a team that is responsible for developing graphic and video ads for our game, Sky: Children of the Light. Your creatives will be used to invite new players into the experience. We want to attract people from around the world through thoughtful design, who are interested in making genuine human connections and experiencing compassion through play.
You will be responsible for the creation and editing of short video clips with motion graphics and graphic ads from various video mediums to be used in various digital channels. You’ll be able to clearly communicate creative ideas to both supervisors and stakeholders.
What you'll do here:
- Create compelling content User Acquisition ads and campaigns
- Drive and improve ad performance by creating innovative content as well as exploration of new creative tactics
- Compose videos and static ads with a focus on acquiring new players in Sky
- Work with a campaign manager to develop growth-focused creative best practices based on performance per channel
- Come up with creative end card animations, calls-to-action, etc, in order to improve the performance and engagement of ads.
- Choreograph and capture gameplay video content to create third-person cinematography, guiding compositions from script to finish.
- Work with designers, project managers, and other partners for feedback
- Establish and communicate consistent visuals and standards across the company's entire brand
- Meet deadlines and have the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ensure high standards and quality assurance across all work produced so that it is cohesive, consistent, and on brand.
- Learn and leverage knowledge of our player and company KPI’s to assure we are creating optimal assets.
- Optimize ads by ideating and creating high quality ads to meet those objectives
Must-haves:
- 3+ years of professional experience working in-house or at an agency in creative production
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print
- Strong proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and Illustrator
- Ability to grasp multiple design requirements with attention to detail and effectively complete deliverables within deadlines with little supervision
- Results oriented and interested in working with data and cross-team stakeholders to produce high-engagement ads
- A creative mind with great taste for identifying engaging content and using it to inspire your own creative work for TGC
- Working knowledge of raw video formats, best practices for static image formats
- Editing and paintover skills to composite multiple sources together into a cohesive image
- Familiarity with advertising channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, etc.
Nice to haves:
- Prior experience creating/editing mobile advertisements
- Proficiency with video capture software/hardware and learning new internal tools.
- Experience with 2D character animation
- Experience with 3D modeling and animation is a plus!
- Game design or development experience is a plus!
- Marketing experience is a plus!
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.
- Illustration is a plus
