We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a full-time role in our Las Vegas design center supporting the redesign and redevelopment of mechanisms and components used in our gaming products. The successful candidate will be responsible for remediating product design flaws through engineering analysis, mechanical design, change management, prototyping and manufacturing of new and improved mechanical components used in some of your very favorite digital games found in casinos throughout the world.What you'll do
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Complete root cause analysis on mechanisms and components currently deployed in games in the market to understand their mechanical challenges and failures, quickly resolving all facets of design, manufacturing, and assembly issues
- Design new or redesign current mechanisms and components using Solidworks to remediate the challenges and failures and create new and improved mechanism and components
- Complete the prototyping, including fabrication and build, Reliability Testing and Engineering Change Order management for all new mechanisms and components
- Interact with suppliers that utilize wide range of materials, manufacturing processes and methods that apply to various aspects of product design (sheet metal fabrication, die cast, injection moulding)
- Work with fabrication and assembly facilities, applying best practices for assembly and quality control
- Interact with cross functional teams – New Product Development Engineering, Central Quality, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Field Service
- Apply continuous improvement methodology that improves efficiencies in managing the lifecycle of a product from production launch through end-of-life
What we're looking for
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or 5 years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, engineering, quality, or manufacturing of complex mechanisms and components
- Demonstrable expertise in Solidworks or other CAD CAM Software , engineering best practices for design and testing of mixed mechanical and electrical systems
- Prior experience in fabrication and assembly of components for prototyping and mass production
- Proven collaboration, teamwork, and communication skills at all levels within an organization
- Fully conversant with the use of testing management and defect management tools with the ability to maintain the up-to-date issues log, track defects clearly and manage to resolution and closure
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in gaming console / cabinet engineering or design experience is highly preferred
