Marketing Art Director

Working closely with our colleagues at Bad Robot Productions, our projects unite our extensive network of games, TV, and film industry talent to create original IPs, expansive worlds and tell new stories across all media platforms which are as fun to watch as they are to play.
Bad Robot Games is looking for a Marketing Art Director that is a hands-on creator and creative visionary. You take art direction and asset creation to the next level with a deep understanding of visual communication and storytelling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the look and feel of marketing creative across our company and game marketing assets (including videos, key art, screenshots, logos, and more).
- Leverage skills as illustrator, designer, and creative director to produce marketing materials that will live in multiple mediums including (but not limited to) digital media, advertising, experiential, packaging, and digital store fronts.
- Partner with marketing leads to ensure assets meet the goals, briefs, and brand requirements.
- Brainstorm and strategize with the internal team to develop creative concepts with a focus on the look and feel of marketing materials.
- Convert rough ideas into visual prototypes (e.g., sketches, storyboards, layouts) to illustrate concepts for creative reviews.
- Provide input on concepting ideas based on knowledge of current trends, game industry, pop culture, and audience insights.
- Recommend, research, and develop imagery (e.g., photography, graphics, illustration) to support creative strategy and execution.
- Direct the final development and production of creative assets and ensure the final assets meet the creative objectives.
- Select and manage potential external vendors and agencies that provide specializations that go outside the core competencies of the in-house team.
- In addition to producing creative assets in-house, this role will also work with external creatives to deliver against briefs, providing them direction and feedback to help them deliver world class marketing assets. (70% production / 30% direction)
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within a creative agency or marketing creative services group required
- Demonstrated mastery of Adobe Creative, with fluency across a variety of visual disciplines, including graphic design, illustration, conception, storyboarding, and art direction.
- Impeccable attention to detail, excellent art direction and design sensibility
- Someone who enables unique and unexpected insights to fuel big ideas and innovation
- Loves rolling up their sleeves to create assets themselves, while also being able to provide clear direction to vendors and agencies to deliver creative executions.
- Have a broad understanding of global art and visual trends, particularly in the entertainment space, including illustration, digital art, 3D art, graphic design, web design, interactive advertising, UI & UX, in-engine video, CG video, animation, and product screenshots.
- A passion for art and design, with the vision to transform design concepts and game assets into creative marketing content for different channels and markets.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment where multiple creative teams work together and you try to leave your ego out of it.
