We are looking for a student to join the Marketing Analytics team as a Marketing Analyst Intern, reporting to a Manager of Consumer Marketing & Insights – Analytics.

As a Marketing Analyst Intern you will own and be the main driver of a project focused on online communities in the gaming space, working to understand relationships between community variables and game related KPIs.

You will analyze large sets of data, conduct exploratory analysis, and build sophisticated models to identify trends, explore relationships, and gather insights.

Most of the work will be individualistic, but you will interface and collaborate with members of the Marketing Analytics team, as well as our partners in Studio Analytics and Data Science.

What you will do:
  • Extract, transform, and process data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Perform exploratory analysis on the data utilizing simple (e.g. distributions, central tendency) and advanced methodologies (e.g. PCA, clustering).
  • Employ segmentation methods to better understand sub-populations of players and online communities.
  • Employ machine learning or predictive modeling to explore apparent relationships between variables.
  • Generalize learnings via validation and replication.
  • Collaborate with other analytics and social-oriented teams to help guide project goals, supplant learnings, and explore additional opportunities.
  • Communicate and present final findings to key stakeholders, leadership team, and the wider EA community via the intern fair.
  • Provide ad-hoc support for any unplanned needs related to our operations.

Your profile:

Background and Technical skills:
  • Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, or similar fields.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge-of and practical experience with statistics, probability, and hypothesis testing
  • Experience applying quantitative methods to solve problems in a data-driven manner.
  • Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation
  • Proficiency with R (preferred) or Python for data analysis and visualization.
  • Strong communication skills - regular project updates, communication with and across teams, and analytical “storytelling” - distilling quantitative insights into easy to digest and intuitive presentation form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a globally spread organization –including team members, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Experience with web scraping and data mining is a plus.
  • Advanced statistics and computational skills a plus - e.g. modeling, machine learning, programming
  • Previous internship/experience in an analytics-related function
  • Experience with digital marketing and marketing channels a plus
