As the Manufacturing Engineer Manager you will oversee the development and implementation of the manufacturing process to maintain product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
Your strong leadership skills will allow you to lead your team to success and your ability to build strong relationships will ensure the engineering and manufacturing departments work closely together.
Some key areas of focus in the role will be to drive robust new product releases, development of test equipment, efficient production processes, efficient electronic repair centre processes and effectively manage change orders. You will play a key role in continuous improvements to processes, equipment, hardware, software, and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a high performing manufacturing engineering team
- Develop and execute Manufacturing Engineering KPIs to drive departmental performance and ensure achievement of both departmental and business wide safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals
- Work collaboratively and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the manufacturing strategy
- Ensure continuous improvement and optimisation of business systems, manufacturing processes, electronic repair centre processes and procedures
- Manage engineering projects to timeframe and cost
- Manage the plant maintenance program in accordance with all maintenance requirements
- Actively engage with safety initiatives and promote a safety culture across the site
- Identify design and quality issues that may impact production processes, field performance, efficiencies, and cost, making correction recommendations via Engineering Change Requests.
- Manage new product activities to ensure on time delivery while meeting quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in the mechanical engineering or industrial engineering field
- Strong leadership experience
- Passion for creating efficiencies as well as enhancing systems/process and automation
- Demonstrated experience utilising Lean Manufacturing and/or Operational Excellence concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and lead staff
- Solid financial and commercial manufacturing acumen
- Hands on technical problem solver at nature
- Related studies within Industrial Engineering or similar would be highly regarded
