Manager, Visual Design Art - Central Technology, Leadership

As Manager, Visual Design Art on Information Design Systems, you will work across pillars to determine design solutions and foster effective visual communication. You'll guide a team of designers to create outstanding deliverables by channeling your conceptual and visual design abilities, understanding of data and performance metrics, knowledge of accessibility standards, and mastery of visual narrative. You can use Google Slides and other simple enterprise tools, in ways that nobody has ever dreamed of! Your team will focus on creation and implementation of templates, technology department specific communications, presentations, graphic design, UI, design systems, and motion graphics. You put the user first, always looking for opportunities to create a more seamless customer experience for IDS engagements.
You will report to the Lead of Information Design Systems and manage a group of visual, UI, and information designers.
Responsibilities:
- Promote the creation of innovative assets for all Riot deliverables, demonstrating not only a high bar of craft excellence, but expert attention to visual narrative, information architecture, audience, accessibility, and usability.
- Work across multiple design styles, customers, and work streams
- Explore maximizing efficiency of asset creation, including new tools and partnering with engineers to envision and create features.
- Educate your team and customers as to visual accessibility standards and the basics of presentation design through easy to use guides, internal publications, and open workshops.
- Be informed as to current trends and technology development within data visualization and presentation design.
- Mentor the individuals on your team, guiding their careers through an understanding of their strengths, areas of opportunity, and interests.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience within graphic design and presentation design, with relevant experience managing and growing creative teams
- Expertise in design principles, visual storytelling, and color theory
- Experience managing UI designers, establishing design systems, and driving the UI of internal tooling
- Proficient in Figma and prototyping
- An understanding of accessibility standards as they relate to visual assets
- Experience developing and conveying powerful visual narratives in verbal, written, and visual format
- Expert at critically interpreting data and communicating information visually through graphics, typography, infographics, and diagrams using Adobe Creative Suite, GSuite, and PowerPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in compiling and editing video and audio clips as relates to presentations (ie, Video on Demand)
- Proficient in the creation of motion graphics
