In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends. It has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world, and is currently leading the charge of the dramatic growth of esports. We build experiences for a global audience while also crafting new games, giving artists exciting and complex problems to tackle. We work side-by-side with game designers, narrative writers, and audio designers and engineers to ensure that each piece of content from Riot reaches the level of quality players deserve. From animations to illustrations, cinematics to comics, characters to environments, we work as a team to put players first.

On the Real-Time VFX team, you’ll design and help implement the sleek, dynamic and dramatic special effects that add atmosphere and depth to gameplay. With your experience, you’ll create aesthetically astounding visual effects that communicate essential game information. You’ll use your artistic and technical skills to breathe life into undead spells, channel primal emotions and capture the essence of hundreds of champions.

As a Manager, VFX on the League of Legends Champions team, you will report to the Art Manager. You will s upport VFX artists, both in craft and career as we create assets that will both surprise and delight players. Work may vary from creating new champion abilities, updating older champions, and supporting Pre Season updates. You will work closely with Product Leads, Delivery Leads, Stakeholders, and the Associate Art Director to stay aligned on vision and priorities. Quickly mediate and resolve craft disagreements and misalignments. Prioritize the craft’s health and support, above personally contributing to art production. Run and manage healthy and productive craft review sessions. Work closely with the Art Leads on other LoL initiatives to build a ‘future forward’ workflow and consistent quality and style.
