Job Title: Manager – Royalty Accounting
Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager – Credit, Accounts Receivable & Royalties, the Royalty Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounting of Pokémon’s extensive royalty licensing program. You will prepare, monitor, and analyze budgets for the licensing program and lead our team of royalty accountants. This includes providing guidance and support to ensure the timely processing of our various licensing partners’ royalty statements and affiliated accounting activities. You will also be a trusted advisor to our internal legal, licensing and product approval teams, while working with a wide range of external licensees to resolve complex issues. This role will also support the accounting team with month-end close and other ad-hoc projects and requests as needed.

What you’ll do
- Manage a team of accounting staff who are responsible for royalty accounting and reporting
- Recruit, hire, and develop royalty accounting staff and conduct performance evaluations
- Provide supervision and guidance to ensure the timely and accurate processing of licensee royalty statements and contract compliance
- Approve contracts, amendments and accounting transactions in WestEnd Workspace and Dynamics AX, our ERP system (soon to be implementing Oracle Cloud)
- Review for accuracy and approved various royalty related journal entries
- Manage the licensee audit program
- Assist team with resolving complex licensee reporting and compliance issues by working closely with business managers, the Legal department, and the product approvals teams
- Assist GL accounting team with month-end close
- Prepare licensing and royalty data for reporting out to internal business partners
- Assist in preparing and presenting the royalty and participation budgets and forecasts
- Identify and implement efficiencies to our existing standards, processes, and procedures

What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with extensive GL reconciliation, royalty and/or audit experience and with at least one (1) year as a manager of an accounting department required.
- 3+ years of experience in variance analysis, budgeting, and planning
- A familiarity with minimum guarantees/advance payments
- Work independently, take initiative, and exercise professional judgment
- Focus on continuous improvement and increasing efficiency
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Multi-task and prioritize diverse workload
- Resolve complex issues requiring cooperation from others over a long period of time
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Understand system logic and dependencies
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel abilities
- Preferred: experience with contracts, licensing and royalties, participations, audits, ERP and royalty accounting systems (West End Workspace desired).
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Ability to develop and build collaborative relationships with a cross functional teams

- Base salary range: $109,000.00 - $163,000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. It is common for TPCi to start employees below the midpoint of the range. Final base salary is directly related to each candidate’s qualifications and experience uniquely.
