Manager, Publishing - North America, LCS

This role is responsible for the publishing and marketing efforts of the LCS. As the Publishing Manager, you will foster and acquire engaged fans by creating and executing marketing and communication campaigns. This role will work very closely with other key leaders across the LCS organization and the greater North American publishing team to build highly effective go-to-market strategies. The Manager, Publishing, LCS will own the publishing tactics and strategy of the LCS and it’s channels. This role will drive the scale of publishing efforts, define and determine the target audience, target actions for publishing, channel strategy, integration with other Riot products, and media/publishing planning.

A successful candidate will have a deep rooted passion for Esports and League of Legends and is highly familiar with the Esports business and its history. This role will evolve to have 2 or more direct reports and will be further supported by a large, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

• This person will oversee product publishing for the LCS. They will be responsible for overall GTM planning, which includes:: building a holistic marketing and publishing plan, managing and influencing a cross-functional team of publishing SMEs (comms, brand, events, etc), coordinating across the product and central teams, creating organizational buy-in for projects and executions, and finally executing the final plan and measuring the outcomes.
• Manage holistic relationships with game development, league operations, digital product strategy, creative (internally and externally with agencies) and other key functional partners
• Partner with the LCS franchise teams on their respective marketing and fan engagement efforts ensuring cohesion and amplification
• Develop and execute promotional opportunities to increase fan engagement and viewership
• Provide regular reports on the progress of the publishing group towards meeting the business goals established for the LCS

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in a publishing, business development or product management role.
• 4+ years leading an externally facing program related to esports, experiential marketing, or traditional sports franchise
• 3+ years directly managing an initiative, program, or small team
