Role overview:
This Manager PMO role is supporting the PlayStation Partner Product Development Group (PDG). What is Partner PDG? PlayStation is committed to being the best place for creators to develop and publish content. We deliver a world-class end-to-end partner experience which seamlessly enables our creators to access all the information and tools needed to develop and publish content for PlayStation worldwide. To engage directly with our global creators, Partner PDG provides the ability to build, manage, and publish content through a single portal experience, and provide back analytics to further advise their business decisions.
As Manager with Partner PDG, you will guide the PMO team that is responsible for driving critical strategic initiatives from inception through to deployment, over a worldwide scale. You will partner with teams such as product management, engineering, quality assurance, security, business, design, customer experience, marketing and more.
What you'll be doing:
- Play a leadership role by managing a team of Program Managers who lead and coach highly visible technology projects and teams. You will also be part of a cross-functional leadership team that leads PlayStation Direct.
- Sponsor and advocate for the members of your team, looking for opportunities to endorse and advance their career development.
- Represent the organization to executive leadership, providing visibility on major initiatives
- Possess strong leadership skills, confirmed project management ability, and a positive approach in leading staff, clients, and project related issues
- Foster a team culture of inclusion and well-being.
- Develop, motivate, and empower direct reports to make appropriate program related decisions while fostering a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring.
- Handle distribution and allocation of resources.
- Work collaboratively across cross-functional areas to drive overall program success.
- Communicate status, program health, overall risks, advanced technical issues to technical staff, product partners and senior management.
- Lead and promote continual learning and process improvements to deliver projects from inception to conclusion.
- Manage the coordination of activities and communication across global distributed locations.
- Be an advocate for activities and practices that help boost overall employee engagement.
- Participate in setting and implementing the vision, mission and goals for the department and team
What we're looking for:
- A minimum of 3+ years of management experience
- 8+ years’ experience working in a program/project management capacity for software development projects
- Track record of successfully leading large/complex global cross functional projects, strong domestic and international project management experience.
- Experience with Systems Development Lifecycle and Project Management Methodologies, specifically Agile/Scrum, in addition to Waterfall.
- Experience in digital media software and/or gaming industry is desired.
- You have excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
- You work effectively and expertly with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team.
- Excel in conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management
- You exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and can make good, timely decisions.
- You are comfortable with authoring many types of documents, including scope, requirements, agendas, action plans, and project plans.
- You’re motivated, organized self-starter with the ability to solve routine or complicated problems effectively.
- Proven effective leadership and possess the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- University degree or equivalent experience required
