Private Division is a developer-focused publisher that partners with the finest creative talent in the video game industry, empowering studios to develop the games that they are passionate about creating, while providing the support that they need to make their titles critically and commercially successful on a global scale. The Label publishes the Kerbal Space Program franchise, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey from Panache Digital Games, The Outer Worlds from Obsidian Entertainment, Disintegration from V1 Interactive, and OlliOlli World from Roll7, with future unannounced projects in development with Moon Studios, Die Gute Fabrik, Evening Star, Piccolo Studio, Yellow Brick Games, and other esteemed independent developers. Private Division publishes the physical retail edition of Hades from Supergiant Games on PlayStation® and Xbox consoles. Private Division continues to build its internal studio capacity, with Roll7 and Intercept Games as internal developers for the Label. Private Division has offices in New York City, Seattle, Las Vegas, Munich, and Singapore.
The Challenge
The Manager, People & Development is a strategic business partner, providing hands-on support to the Private Division publishing team in Seattle, and our in-house studio, Intercept Games. In this role, you will partner with the Director, People & Development and senior managers to execute talent management strategies that fosters an industry leading employee experience and strong culture.
What You’ll Take On
- Partner with label and studio leaders to understand talent strategy and manage day-to-day people operations for Private Division's Seattle team and Intercept Games
- Define, build and operationalize various people programs and processes to support the full employee lifecycle to deliver a great employee experience
- Partner with COE resources to efficiently deliver HR services and support to the organization
- Effectively coach and mentor team managers
- Manage talent acquisition and retention initiatives to build and grow the team
- Create and facilitate learning and development programs and initiatives to cultivate our talent
- Point person for internal communications
- Lead and support employee relations by proactively addressing needs that surface
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist in a small to medium, fast-paced company
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- A compassionate team player with a drive to create a positive work environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including high-quality document preparation and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, conflict resolution and facilitation skills
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Creative problem-solver
- Unafraid to speak up candidly and constructively when it's difficult
- Ability to identify and prioritize work
- Possesses high character
Great to Have:
- Gaming or Tech industry experience is a plus.
- Prior experience with Workday, Lattice, Greenhouse, Textio or other similar HR Tech tools.
