The Media Buying Manager is a key member of the performance marketing team and reports into the MZ’s performance marketing leadership. You should be experienced with user acquisition and large-large ad buying, preferably, for free-to-play games. The Media Buying Manager will have experience negotiating ad buys within mobile, desktop, or mobile gaming. The Media Buying Manager will be responsible for the management of the user acquisition funnel for all active games and partner with the business intelligence team to measure return-on-investment. The Media Buying Manager’s work will have tremendous impact on games to be seen and played by tens of millions of global players!
What you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for managing acquisition/user funnel for all active games
- Conduct thorough and deep analysis to derive new findings to greatly optimize mobile marketing campaigns to acquire new and engaged users at large scale
- Collaborate with different teams within the marketing department to deliver and execute successful mobile marketing campaigns
- Work with other team members in sharing intel of digital ad buying and work with business intelligence team to determine value of acquisition efforts and optimizations
- Develop A/B testing programs to maximize acquisition efforts and return
- Effectively and efficiently lead performance-based paid acquisition marketing efforts to reach acquisition goals
- Collaborate with CRO and cultivate relationships with partners and companies that can support profitable acquisition, including platform owners (e.g. Apple, Google, Amazon)
- Find and/or develop creative and innovative solutions for acquisition and be able to make necessary tweaks to drive added value
- Influence development teams (platform and games) to implement features and/or designs that improve acquisition
- Work closely with the Marketing Creative team to make best-in-class and fully optimized creatives, both for the app stores and for paid user acquisition campaigns
- Develop short term budget and plans for creative testing involved in App Store Optimization with different creative test platforms
- Identify new partner, platform, and optimization opportunities to drive campaign performance
Your background and who you are:
- 5+ years in mobile user acquisition and ad buying experience at scale, preferably with free-to-play games
- 5+ years experience buying at scale and negotiating ad buys; strongly prefer mobile/mobile games ad buying experience
- 4+ years experience conducting analysis on acquisition and ad buying to deliver ROI including A/B testing alternatives
- 2+ years experience in management or supervisory role with the ability to inspire, prioritize, and mentor.
- Exceptional analytical skills balanced with understanding of creative development
- Able to thoroughly monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot 3rd party mobile app tracking
- Understanding of multiple techniques to identify advertising fraud
- Manage fast-paced and dynamic projects in a highly organized manner on schedule and on budget
- Strong, thorough, and deep understanding of A/B testing and creating A/B test environments.
- Strong business logic and able to quickly identify new opportunities to acquire new and engaged users
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL skills
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical degree
