Rules of the game
As a member of the Consumer Market Knowledge (CMK) team, which is administered by headquarters and partially based in Montréal and constitutes a key decision-making partner, you will provide internal managers with the knowledge they require to understand consumers, the market and long-term industry developments and trends to ensure that the decision-making processes are as informed as possible.
To successfully execute your mission, you will work in close collaboration with passionate and creative production teams and internal partners. You will have the opportunity to work toward the development and success of our Canadian studios (Montréal, Toronto, Québec) by contributing to Ubisoft’s most famous titles, including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs and Rainbow 6 Siege.
Using a 360 data approach, which we have implemented internally and externally, you will respond to challenges by providing market analyses, developing ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research and capitalizing on our statistical tools and internal databases to provide teams with consumer data, as well as data on video game market dynamics and more generally on the entertainment industry and technological trends in order to identify risks and opportunities for senior management.
Our day-to-day still feels a lot like a start-up environment. You will need to be agile and curious, able to work with priorities that are constantly changing and bold enough to experiment, create and test.
Main quests
- Provide vision and strategic guidance to create and monitor qualitative and quantitative analyses
and benchmarks that meet the needs of the studios in Montréal, Québec and Ontario through various means, including collaborations with the studios in Paris and around the world - Maintain a positive expert attitude with internal partners by clearly communicating your strategic
recommendations and translating them into actionable plans that are effective for senior management and management teams across departments - Stay on the alert for emerging global trends and developments and weak signals in the video game and entertainment industries to drive teams
- Contribute to in-depth video game market and trend analyses focused on factors from business
performances to the evolution of gamer behaviours and new business models for games - Master, develop and sustain current market assessment tools and contribute to the development of
new tools - Develop collective intelligence by building an internal network and fostering gamer knowledge
sharing within the corporation - Be an integral part of the CMK by applying best practices within the team and actively contributing to the development of new research methods and tools
- Travel on a regular basis (at least three times/year) to our studios in Toronto and Québec to meet with management team (partners), manage projects, give presentations and be the voice and messenger of the CMK
- Be in constant communication with other teams members based at Paris HQ and in other studios to share analyses and build cross-cutting projects
- Ensure the implementation and follow up of consumer-focused indicators and the market through reporting tables/dashboards
Qualifications
Game level
- Bachelor’s in marketing or social science or equivalent
- Master’s a considerable asset
Experience
- 7 to 10 years’ experience in marketing research (qualitative and quantitative) gained in an agency
(client-driven) or a business intelligence, strategic planning or finance/management department
Skills
- Solid understanding of video game culture and player community dynamics and open to the competitive/e-sports industries

- String quantitative skills with a penchant for drafting analytical requests
- You face big data head on by increasing the number of resources at your disposal (study results, analytical data from gamers, forums, blogs, etc.) to emphasize the insights and make strategic recommendations to internal clients
Knowledge
- Bilingualism (French, English) an asset
- Extensive knowledge of Office and especially Excel (macro and automation) and PowerPoint (presentations)
- Extensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative marketing research techniques
- Extensive knowledge of SPSS
- Knowledge of statistical methods
- Being a gamer a key asset
- Interest in the entertainment industry or technologies
