As a part of the Employee Relations (ER) team, you will engage with employees at critical moments of their experiences with the company, helping them address concerns, accommodations, workplace challenges and performance related issues. Also, you will work in close partnership with HR, Compliance and Legal teams to drive consistent ER processes across the organization while minimizing risk and ensuring a positive ethical workplace.
Reporting to the VP of Employee Relations, you will partner with HR Business Partners and leaders, you will address complex workplace issues, strengthen people management capabilities, and provide consultation resulting in improved organizational health and business performance.
Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Personally investigate and manage sensitive employee claims/cases, including (but not limited to) complaints about manager(s) and/or work environment, Code of Conduct violations, other company policy violations, and other misconduct
- Partner with Activision Blizzard’s Compliance and/or Legal departments to resolve conflicts and effectively execute solutions on compliance and employee relations topics
- Partner with the Compliance and Investigations team as needed on the privileged workplace investigations, such as discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation
- Prepare documentation for and follow up on disciplinary/corrective actions for both claims/cases as well as performance management (e.g., performance improvement plans)
- Create and facilitate trainings to build employee relations skill set among HR community and people managers
- Provide ER advice on business decisions with potential downstream ER-risks (e.g. performance management, reductions in force, and business reorganizations)
- Recommend and implement changes to employee policies and processes to build stronger culture, productive working relationships, and a more compliant workplace
- Provide advice to HR business partners and generalists on a variety of ER topics including but not limited to HR policy, attendance, leaves of absence, performance, and conflict resolution
- Thoroughly and completely document cases and ER activity in the company’s case management tool and report out to key stakeholders
- Proactively identify and mitigate ER-related risks leveraging quantitative and qualitative data.
Player Profile
- 6+ combined years of applicable HR and Employee Relations experience
- Highest level of integrity with a proven ability to gain trust from all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of USA (Canada is a plus) employment laws and regulations and the ability to appropriately spot and resolve employment risks and issues
- Exercises sound judgment, while balancing acting with a sense of urgency and need for exceptional attention to detail and documentation
- Coaches and influences all levels of employees and successfully delivers difficult messages
- Maintains composure in a fast-paced, fluid environment and successfully navigates ambiguity to build consensus and achieve resolutions
- Conveys empathy and cultivates strong relationships while managing sensitive situations
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusion
- Excitement to build Employee Relations COE and participate in foundational efforts
Education
Undergraduate degree preferred
