Job Title: Manager, Design (Creative Services)
Job Summary:
The Manager, Design will be a leader of a team of designers that concentrates on creating innovative and creative designs for the various teams and pillars of the Pokémon brand. Projects include, but are not limited to, Publishing, Video Game, Media, Organized Play, Marketing, Sales, Licensing, HR, and Pokémon Center. This specific role will focus on serving the management needs for Pokémon Center Production and 2 additional CS pillars which will be determined based on the candidate’s experiences and expertise.
The Manager, Design leads and collaborates with the various departments that are involved with their pillar projects to translate their requests into designs. They will delegate assignments among multiple direct reports and checks for quality and consistency with a high attention to detail. Day to day responsibilities includes developing design strategies, planning for future growth, cross-department problem solving, managing projects, collaborating with team members, delegating tasks, attending meetings, and coaching/evaluating the performance and goals of direct reports.

What you’ll do
- Lead many high-profile projects simultaneously; ensuring design quality and design directives are followed
- Propose and implement initiatives that would improve workflow, processes, and designer enablement
- Maintain strict attention to detail and meticulous review of proofs from print vendors
- Manage and provide ongoing support/guidance to a team of designers
- Correspond daily with various stakeholders and project owners from both the US and UK
- Partner with the Pokémon Centerteam on the current, 5-year, and 10-year plans of Pokémon Center and put systems in place to ensure the PC Production Designer sub-team grows alongside the business needs of this pillar
- Train team and key business partners on TPCi’s brandguidelines and design process
- Review projects and delegate assignments to the team
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in production design strategies, tools, and automation software
- Be aware of issues from designers and bring awareness and solutions across multiple departments
What you’ll bring
- Six + (6+) years of relevant experience, one (1) year of management experience.
- Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Strong people management/partnership skills
- Technical knowledge of the design and production process
- Technical knowledge of print technology and pre-press processes
- Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite on MAC OS
- Strong desire to improve process and aide designers in doing their best work
