This Editor position draws on your love of language, mastery of grammar, drive for consistency, and knowledge of Magic. Our team of outstanding Editors collaborates to ensure that all text elements of Magic card sets and related materials meet our quality standards for grammar, punctuation, factual accuracy, clarity, audience, tone, consistency between art and text, and layout.
What you'll do:
- Lead and support editing for Magic card sets and associated assets.
- Facilitate communication between writers, game designers, graphic designers, digital teams, and other partners to define project goals and content. Perform significant copy editing and proofreading.
- Coordinate with production to accurately represent product specifications in external- and internal-facing documents.
- Manage multiple project timelines simultaneously.
What you'll bring:
- Two or more years of experience as a paid copy editor or proofreader
- Three or more years of experience playing Magic
- Solid understanding of past and present Magic cards
- Strong proofreading skills and attention to visual detail
- Flexible, adaptable mind with a constant appetite for knowledge
- Insightful, nuanced, and eloquent communication to convey complex subject matter clearly and precisely
- Deeply collaborative outlook combined with the confidence and trust to work with others
