Machine Learning for Gaming (Apprenticeship)

Job Description

Machine learning is revolutionizing every aspect of our lives and Gameloft is at the front of innovation finding new ways to apply it in its games. For that purpose, We are recruiting a new member to work on Machine Learning techniques applied to gameplay.

The role consists of finding new gameplay applications based on the latest advances in Machine Learning research. Automated testing, difficulty evaluation, procedural generation are a non-exhaustive list of uses we are exploring in order to assist our game designers/developers. In that context, we are offering a Machine Learning Apprenticeship contract to a passionate individual.

The goals for this position are:

• Evaluate machine learning techniques, models, software and APIs.
• Work on concrete implementations in games, prototypes or funny experiments.
• Produce modular, testable and re-usable code that can be leveraged in our games.

Qualifications

Skills and Profile

Apart from a keen interest in Machine Learning, we are looking for these competences in potential candidates:

• Good programming skills: C#/C++, Python.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning theory and concepts.
• Teamwork and good communication skills.
• Able to provide regular reports in order to evaluate progress.
• Curiosity, Inventiveness and Tenacity: The field is moving fast, new research papers or open-source projects are released frequently, allowing optimizations of existing implementations and creating new possibilities. We like to try new things, but we equally like to finish what we started.
• Experience with Tensorflow, PyTorch, Unity MLAgents, or other ML frameworks is a plus.
• And of course, a passion for playing and developing Games!
