Machine Learning Engineer

Overview

Global video game publisher/developer headquartered in Rockville, MD, seeks a Machine Learning Data Engineer. This position works within the Enterprise BI Team supporting data scientists by optimizing machine learning models, delivering model output to stakeholders, and model deployment. The Enterprise BI Team is the central data organization that provides data insights, builds data models which help ZeniMax’s game studios and business teams better understand player behavior and product performance.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with Data Modelers, Enterprise Architect, and Data Scientists, ensuring that business requirements are being met
• Coordinate with the data scientists and data engineers to optimize and deploy models
• Be able to work on differing subject areas including game and business data
• Build systems to deploy models and model results
• Optimizing Python code with Data Scientists
• Optimizing data models and model development
• Reviewing and rewriting code to reduce execution time and complexity
• Provide algorithm analysis feedback to data scientists

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer System Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer
• 3+ Years of experience with a major programming language (C/C++, Java, Python, etc.)
• Spark experience using SparkML, MLlib, or equivalence
• Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models at scale
• Knowledge of data query and data processing tools (i.e. SQL)
• Computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance (e.g., I/O and memory tuning).
• Strong understanding of computer algorithm execution and optimization
• A strong communicator, is comfortable interfacing directly with differing customers across the organization in addition to the BI team

Preferred Skills

• Underlying knowledge of Python Optimization
• ML Model Management (mlFlow, etc.)
• Optimizing Spark Jobs
• Experience with Databricks
• Understanding of Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure Services, especially data related components
• Experience with streaming data/inference
• Experience providing work summary and guidelines for other data engineers and data scientists
